Salvage of sunken ship cargo continues

Southern Can Tho Province authorities continued to salvage cargo from a ship that sank in Can Tho River.

A cargo ship carrying 70 tonnes of goods, 4 tonnes of sugarcane and 200 boxes of enamelled tiles suddenly exploded on Monday while heading from Cai Rang District to Phong Dien District. The police are still investigating the incident.

Vo Thi Kim Dao, the ship's owner, said her family and employees aboard the ship jumped into the river before the explosion. No deaths were reported.

Cargo worth millions of dong has been lost.
