The delegation of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee's Organisation Commission was led by To Huy Rua.
In talks held between the two sides yesterday, they shared experiences and discussed specific measures to realise co-operation agreements already reached.
Viet Nam and Laos also agreed yesterday to offer legal and administrative support to investors.
The agreement came at the 37th meeting of the Viet Nam-Laos Inter-governmental Committee, which was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Viet Nam-Laos Co-operation Sub-Committee Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Lao counterpart Somsavad Lengsavath.
The Lao delegation said their government would consider approving more land leases for licensed rubber plantation and other industrial crop cultivation projects.
On the political front, both sides agreed to work together and realise commitments made by leaders while proposing necessary mechanisms and policies.
They also agreed to accelerate implementation of the Viet Nam-Laos co-operation strategy from 2011 to 2020, the agreement on Viet Nam-Laos cooperation in the Lao provinces of Houaphan and Xieng Khouang until 2020 as well as the 2011-2015 co-operation agreement.
Vietnamese and Lao goods will continue to enjoy preferential export-import tariffs, they said, adding that business communities will be apprised of all tax incentives. Border customs clearance will also be facilitated, they added.
The two sides also agreed to put into action a plan for building markets along the Viet Nam-Laos border through 2020.
They concluded their meeting with the signing of an agreement on bilateral cooperation between the two governments in 2015.
