Vietnamese athletes have won five silvers and one bronze on the first competition day of the 2014 Asian Junior Weightlifting Championships in Thailand on March 4.

In the men’s 50kg weight division, Ly Quang Vinh bagged two silver medals, lifting 93kg in the snatch and 202kg in total. He also sealed a bronze in the clean and jerk’s 109kg category.
His team mate Nguyen Tran Anh Tuan grabbed three silvers, hitting a 109kg snatch, 137kg clean and jerk, and 245kg in total.
Vietnam has sent six weightlifters, including three males to the competition.
This is not a tough competitive tournament for Vietnam as the country has three weightlifters qualified for the second Summer Youth Olympic Games to be held in Nanjing, China, this August.
