A woman drowned in the southern province of Dong Nai on Feb 22 when her life jacket came undone after she jumped into a river from a zip line.
The Nhon Trach District police told Thanh Nien that they are investigating the death of Tran Thi Phuong at the Bo Cap Vang (Golden Scorpion) Tourist Area.

Phuong reportedly jumped when she was some 40 meters from the bank, and, seeing her struggling in the water, some other tourists shouted for the security guards.
Some reportedly tried to swim up to her, but she drowned quickly.
Ten minutes later a lifeguard jumped into the river but returned almost immediately to get a diving mask, saying the water was deep.
Some employees got on a motor boat, but the engine did not start for 20 minutes, according to one witness.
When Phuong was finally found and brought ashore she was dead and resuscitation efforts did not work.
Speaking to Thanh Nien Sunday, Nguyen Viet Tien, one of the tourist area’s managers, said the lifeguard got back into the water after getting the diving mask but failed to locate the victim.
Asked about the boat’s engine problem, he said the employee in charge of it unexpectedly took the day off, and they were looking for a replacement when the accident happened.
In response to witnesses’ charges that an ambulance was nowhere to be found at the spot, he said their ambulance had been assigned to another place at the time.
The police have closed the accident site to investigate and refused to disclose details to the media, he said.
Speaking to online newspaper VnExpress, he blamed the accident on the victim’s mistake, saying before the accident occurred, Phuong had been jumping into the river for a while and had decided to quit and unfastened her life jacket. Then she decided to continue but forgot to fasten it again, and that was why it fell off, he said.
Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper quoted another manager of the tourist area as saying that they have suspended the game to “reconsider.”
The game has been very popular and it was unfortunate about the accident, he said, adding that his company paid for Phuong’s funeral.
Opened more than 20 years ago, the six-hectare tourist area, which is located on an islet, is a popular destination for day-trippers from HCMC and Binh Duong Province.
