Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the plea while receiving WHO Regional Director for the Western Pacific, Shin Young-soo, in Ha Noi yesterday.

He said Viet Nam paid special attention to healthcare in an effort to achieve Millennium Development Goals. Although the country had made substantial progress, there were still shortcomings in healthcare.
Shin said WHO valued what Viet Nam had achieved, especially efforts to raise average life expectancy, provide medical care in remote areas and expand health insurance coverage.
He added that WHO would help Viet Nam achieve healthcare development goals.
The two sides also touched upon issues relating to improving medical services - and awareness campaigns on preventing epidemics and health insurance.
