Visiting Thai Education Minister Chaturon Chaisang said that Thailand appreciated the teaching of foreign languages in Viet Nam, especially those of neighbouring countries.
He said enhancing mutual understanding and co-operation was crucial as Southeast Asian nations worked to become an ASEAN Community.
He called for greater bilateral co-operation in job training and educational reform so that the workforce of both nations can meet foreign investors' requirements. Viet Nam has huge potential to attract foreign investment, the Thai minister said.
Welcoming the Thai guest, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan expressed his hope that increasing numbers of Vietnamese students and teachers would study in Thailand and vice versa.
He requested the Thai Government to continue its support for teaching Vietnamese in Thailand as well as in establishing language study centres in both nations.
