Exhibition reaffirms Vietnam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa

An exhibition of ancient maps and documents which prove Viet Nam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago opened in the central city of Da Nang on March 24.

The second exhibition of its kind, the "Hoang Sa Archipelago – Viet Nam's Sovereignty" exhibition is being jointly organised by Da Nang's Department for Foreign Affairs, Hoang Sa district's People's Committee and the Da Nang Museum at Dong A University.


There are 70 documents, items and precious photos being exhibited, including many ancient maps collected from local and foreign researchers and scholars.

A film about Hoang Sa was screened at the inauguration ceremony. On the occasion, a representative from the Dong A University presented to Da Nang Museum a sand painting depicting Viet Nam, which made by the university's students. The event will run for a week.

The first exhibition was held in January at the city's University of Foreign Language. The next exhibition is expected to be held at Da Nang Polytechnic University. The exhibition series aims to improve student awareness and responsibilities in protecting and affirming the country's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago.
