Bear released from captivity

A 150kg bear released from captivity in Binh Thuan Province yesterday is likely to be moved to the Tam Dao Bear Rescue Centre in northern Vinh Phuc.

Animals Asia Foundation, a volunteer organisation, will provide medical help in shifting the animal to the national park.

The bear, said to be the last kept in captivity in the province for bile production, was handed over to authorities voluntarily.

The bear- rescue centre is now home to 110 bears
