Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh (R) meets with visiting DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Su-yong in Ha Noi yesterday.
Minh hailed the maintenance of visits by officials from the two countries as a way to raise mutual understanding.
He said that Minister Ri Su-yong's visit came at a time when both countries were preparing for the 65th year of the founding of their diplomatic ties (January 31).

He said his country wanted the two foreign ministries to foster co-ordination and jointly work on regional and global issues.
Both exchanged views on the Korean Peninsula and the East Sea issues among regional and international matters of mutual concern.
