The central city of Da Nang is set to hold a fireworks competition with a difference: instead of lighting up the night sky, it will explode onto computer screens.
According to the central city's information and communications department, the virtual fireworks competition was a creativity contest for IT youngsters nationwide.

Director of the department, Pham Kim Son, said the event would attract the participation of young people working in the IT industry.
Organisers said the contest was open to people from across the country as well as overseas Vietnamese.
The winner will walk away with a VND15 million (US$700) cash-prize, while the runner-up and third place will pocket VND 10 million ($476) and VND7 million ($333).
Competitors should submit their entries before September 10 at www.computerfireworks.danang.gov.vn or www.phmt.danang.gov.vn
The organising committee will officially announce the winner in December
