Mexican Labor Party Chief Alberto Anaya Gutierrez yesterday affirmed his party's consistent support for Viet Nam in its efforts to protect the country's sovereignty.
Speaking at a meeting with Vietnamese Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan in Ha Noi, he said he believed that Viet Nam would be able to address its sovereignty-related issues through peaceful negotiation.

Guiterrez is visiting Viet Nam to join celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
Welcoming the Mexican politician, Vice President Doan said she believed the visit would help enhance multi-faceted co-operation and partnership between the two countries. Doan also expressed her pleasure at ongoing co-operation in healthcare, education and culture between Viet Nam and Mexico.

On the same day, Gutierrez also met with Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and expressed his determination to work for strengthening the relationship between the parliaments of both nations.
Gutierrez wished that Mexico and Viet Nam establish "the most suitable co-operation mechanism" between the two parliaments and foster co-operation in regional and international forums. He hoped more exchanges would take place between the parliamentarians of both nations to share experiences in lawmaking.
