APF committee convenes in Ha Noi

The Committee on Parliamentary Affairs of the Francophone's Parliamentary Assembly (APF) convened in Ha Noi on Sunday

Addressing the opening ceremony, Viet Nam's National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu said the three-day meeting offered a chance for Viet Nam to learn from the experience of the committee and other APF members in parliamentary activities.


Viet Nam highly values APF's motto and objectives, Luu said, adding that the organisation plays an active part in the Francophone community institution through initiating activities to boost parliamentarian co-operation and solidarity.

For his part, APF President Robert Aubin spoke highly of the Viet Nam National Assembly's contributions to the APF's bilateral and multilateral activities.

According to the official, the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, as one of the four standing committees in the APF, plays an important role in implementing the organisation's activities. It is in charge of the study and review of the parliament's common interests as well as inter-parliamentary co-operation and legal issues within the Francophone community.
