Deputy PM receives Sunwah Group head

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc yesterday received Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Hong Kong's Sunwah Group and Sunwah Foundation – a charitable arm of the group that has financed many educational and cultural projects in Viet Nam.


At the meeting, Choi briefed his host on the operations of the Sunwah Group and Foundation in Viet Nam over the past years.

He noted that the group had participated in charitable activities in education, healthcare and the arts in Viet Nam to help the poor and train teachers in remote and mountainous areas.

The Sunwah Foundation has opened the ULIS-Sunwah Chinese Teaching and Research Centre at the University of Languages and International Studies, creating a venue for the study of Chinese and Confucianism.
