Vietnamese dies in guest house, snake bite suspected

Police in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho said Wednesday that a man had died at a local guest house after being bitten by a snake he had brought along.
Nguyen Xuan Dinh of Vinh Long Province was found dead on the floor of his roomwith two holes on  his right leg.

The police found a cobra measuring more than a meter long in the room.
The family refused to allow them to do forensic tests.
Dinh’s body was found by his wife Nguyen Thi Minh Tam.
Tam said she received a call from him Tuesday evening, but the call ended abruptly after he said he was in a guest house in Can Tho.
She suspected some mishap and rushed to Can Tho, using a GPS to find his location.
The room door had to be forced open, she told the police.
The family said Dinh was on his way back after recovering a debt from a person named Hai in Hau Giang Province next to Can Tho.
He had gone for a drink with a friend name Tuan earlier on Tuesday and told Tuan that a friend gifted him the snake.
Bizarrely, the police have sewn up the snake’s mouth.
