President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan ended his visit to Singapore yesterday on an optimistic note, saying the trip significantly strengthened ties between the VFF and People's Association (PA) as well as the citizens of both countries.
During his stay, Nhan visited the National Community Leadership Institute of Singapore, the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country.

Nhan also called in at two Vietnamese firms in Singapore, Petrolimex Singapore and FPT Asia-Pacific (FAP).
With 2013 profits of $2.7 million, FAP is the only Vietnamese firm among nine companies recognised as capable of providing information technology to the Singaporean government.
FAP, which has been present in Singapore for seven years, won a $2 million project from the Singapore Police Force last year.
Ang Hak Seng, Chief Executive Director of PA, said the relationship between Viet Nam and Singapore was very special and the visit had deepened it further, not only government to government, but more importantly, people to people. The People's Association and the Viet Nam Fatherland Front have many similarities and these would result in future collaboration, allowing agencies both in Singapore and Viet Nam to better serve their peoples, he said.
