Another Chinese theft busted on Vietnam Airlines flight

National carrier Vietnam Airlines has reported yet another in-flight theft attempted by a Chinese passenger which is the third case this year.
Gui Gouliang, 41, was caught trying to steal a purse from the handbag of another passenger on a flight from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City on March 1, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reported Wednesday.

It said Guoliang left his seat which was No.17C and searched an overhead luggage bin where the victim’s handbag was kept.
The victim, who was seating at No.25D, caught the Chinese in the act, and alarmed the flight’s crew who later handed him over to Vietnamese border police when the airplane arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
He was expelled from Vietnam.
Le Truong Giang, spokesman of Vietnam Airlines, said they have “blacklisted” Gouliang and two other Chinese nationals, Zhang Giang and Ren Guanghan, from their flights.
Giang and Guanghan were busted for trying to steal an iPhone from another passenger’s luggage on a flight from Bangkok to HCMC on January 19.
Previously Vietnamese authorities also expelled three Chinese people for attempting to pickpocket US$700 from an Indonesian passenger during a flight from Indonesia to Vietnam on January 17.
