Viet Nam's national football team dropped to 142nd in the latest FIFA world rankings in September.
Early this month, Viet Nam beat Hong Kong 3-1 in a friendly match in the northern port city of Hai Phong's Lach Tray Stadium. However, a mix-up in the rankings made the team slide three places.
In Southeast Asia, the Philippines lead the rankings at No 134, followed by Viet Nam, Myanmar (143) and Singapore (149).
The top three FIFA-ranked countries are Germany, Argentina and Colombia.
Notably, Guatemala jumped 20 places to 57, thanks to their impressive performance in the CONCACAF 2015's qualifying round.
