President Truong Tan Sang yesterday met a delegation of young parliamentarians from the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan.
At a reception in Ha Noi, President Sang said Viet Nam regarded the strengthening of co-operation with Japan as a top priority.

He said that the many similarities in geography and culture enabled the two nations to boost relations in line with their bilateral Extensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia.
He thanked the Japanese Government for backing Viet Nam and providing funds for socio-economic development.
Matsumoto Yohei, head of the delegation, reflected on President Sang's visit to Japan in March, and declared that the visiting parliamentarians wish to work more closely with Viet Nam in joint areas of strength.
The host suggested both sides organise regular exchanges for politicians and parliamentarians to enhance collaboration.
