Viet Nam's FLC Group began construction of its international golf course and resort, FLC Samson Golf Links, in Quang Cu Commune's Sam Son Town, in the central province of Thanh Hoa on Sunday
It is one of the many golf course projects planned by 2020 and approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
LC Group began construction of its international golf course and resort, FLC Samson Golf Links, in the central province of Thanh Hoa on May 4.
The project, which covers an area of over 92.4 hectares, has a total investment of VND1.2 trillion (US$57.1 million). Located along the coastline of Quang Cu beach, it includes an 18-hole link style golf course, villas, hotels, and clubs as well as pools. Its golf course was designed by US-based Nicklaus Design firm, which has designed nearly 400 golf courses in 36 countries.
It is expected to be completed and become operational 10 months from now.
After completion, it will be the highlight of the group's largest golf, resort and hotel complex in central Viet Nam, covering an area of over 450 hectares with a total investment of nearly VND5.5 trillion ($261.9 million).
Specifically, the corporation is also constructing the eco-tourism zone of Con Noi Island, covering an area of 300 hectares with a total investment of VND2.2 trillion ($104.7 million). The zone is designed as an entertainment and resort complex including indoor and outdoor entertainment centres, swimming pools, bars, and restaurants, as well as hotels, villas and attached dwellings.
FLC will build a cable car system to connect the island with the mainland to let tourists travel conveniently. This has been the largest tourism complex planned in Thanh Hoa Province so far.
FLC Group has also invested in a series of projects in Thanh Hoa, such as FLC Hotel Sam Son, FLC Villa Sam Son and a two-hectare housing project in the province's southern area, with a total investment of $1 billion in the next five years.
FLC Group is a real estate firm owning more than 1,500 hectares of project land. Its urban and industrial projects include FLC Garden City in the capital city of Ha Noi and Tam Duong II Industrial Zone, in the northern province of Vinh Phuc. In 2013, the group reported earnings of over VND1.744 trillion (over $83 million) and earned a profit of VND147 billion ($7 million) before tax. This year, it is aiming for VND3.3 trillion ($157.1 million) in revenue and a profit of VND350 billion ($16.6 million).
