Viet Nam come in third at Hangzhou futsal tournament

Despite repeated efforts, Viet Nam lost to China 3-7 to fall to third place in the sixth edition of the Hangzhou International Futsal Tournament, which concluded in China yesterday.

Defending Asian champion Iran triumphed in the three-day tournament, while hosts China finished second.


Iran walked away with the US$5,000 prize, while the runners-up received $4,000 and $3,000, respectively.

The tournament brought together futsal players from China, Iran, Myanmar and Viet Nam, who will gather again on August 17 to prepare for the Southeast Asian Futsal Championships on September 17-28 in Malaysia.
