Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung yesterday received the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, during his first visit to Viet Nam.
PM Dung said he hoped ties would be strengthened in all areas, especially economics-commercial-investment, education, people-to-people exchange and politics.

Blair said he was impressed with Viet Nam's achievements in poverty reduction, economic growth and in striving to meet the targets of the Millennium Development Goals.
He said he would support Viet Nam in areas such as foreign investment and climate change.
During his visit to Viet Nam, Tony Blair will also meet with Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh.
He is also scheduled to deliver a speech at a workshop on global investment trends.
